Erik and I had a great day of climbing in Jamestown Ca. Just a little west of Yosemite on Gold Wall east of The Grotto. The rock wall was a lava river which poured out of a volcano and ran west though the valley toward the sea. Over millenia the rains eroded the earth surrounding thick lava flow. Now thousands of years gone by, the rock stand out from the earth like a thick rhombus of stone which snake’s through the valley begging to be climbed.
Ryan, Caryn and I took a quick 1hr drive and hike out to Egg Head rock at Mickeys beach which is just south of Stinson beach. We did few climbs on a beautiful wind blown day over looking the pacific ocean. It was a 20 minute hike in down a 300-500ft hill down to the beach and to the bolted Egg Head rock. We did a few routes which were difficult 5.10c and a 5.11b?? I would totally go again. Here are some pictures
